My Test Drive of Kaiber

Kaiber offers four AI video services: text to video using a prompt; a service they call Flipbook, which adds frame-by-frame animation to an initial file upload; Motion, a new service that adds fluidity to your animation from an initial file upload, and Transform, which is a video-to-video AI service that will transform the existing style of your uploaded video.

I will test each of their services and then spend the remainder of my free credits on the prompt engine.

Another cool feature to note is they do have a mobile app for both Apple and Google phones.

Flipbook

For Flipbook, I uploaded the unicorn image I created in Leonardo to add animation to it. I used the following prompt:

a dragon flying to meet a unicorn in the style of animated and vibrant

The 6-second video test cost me 6 credits. It took approximately 2 minutes to generate the video.

Motion

For Motion, I also used the unicorn image I created in Leonardo. I used the following prompt:

Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough credits to test this product.

Text-To-Video Test 1

For this feature, I didn’t use any seed images or videos, only simple prompts that I’ve tested across other platforms. On the first test, I used the following prompt:

Magical creatures in the style of illustration

Text-To-Video Test 2

I used the same prompt I’ve been using across platforms for this test, however, I also upped the evolve setting to a maximum of 10, which is a more wild result. I used the following prompt:

A unicorn and a dragon playing baseball in the style of illustration

The 6-second video test cost me 6 credits.

I received 4 previews and chose the first one from which to base the video. The resulting video (turned gif for the website):

Text-To-Video Test 3

Now I want to do something completely different. Based on the gallery I was looking at, I was inspired to make a female warrior with a dragon. I used the following prompt:

A beautiful and fierce female warrior with a pet dragon in the style of 3D rendering

Results:

I received 4 previews and chose the third one from which to base the video. The resulting video (turned gif for the website):

I don’t feel like I can apply this product to my business projects in any meaningful manner, at least not as it stands now. It does some cool, creative, artful things to make video, but nothing that seems like creation out of nothing. This is just animated imagery, not really video.

So, also like Leonardo AI, Kaiber does work perfectly for creating art of any kind, so it’s a wonderful creativity booster. And certainly, if you are building a game or illustrating something, this app will work wonders for you.
